A 35-year-old woman resident of Ganjundundwara, Kasganj, was admitted to Varun Hospital in Vishnupuri on Friday evening after excessive bleeding. The woman already has a child. After that, the woman has miscarried many times. All the precautionary tests were done this time. Investigations on Saturday showed that the baby's heartbeat was not correct. After this the child was born after the operation with the consent of the family. On seeing the strange newborn, the staff there were shocked. The baby is completely different from a normal newborn. His eyes are quite big. The color of the eyes is ruddy red. Body color is also different. The skin is as if cut with a knife. The mouth is opening a bit. Its face and mouth are absolutely extraordinary. Hands and feet are also not common. Dr. Mani Bhargava of Varun Hospital said that the girl has been born suffering from a disease called Harlequin Ichthiosis. It is a rare disease that occurs in one in a million children. This is the first case of Uttar Pradesh. There are three to four such cases in the country. He told that he would send the matter up to help study genetic syndrome.

अलीगढ़ 12 जुलाई। शहर के विष्णुपुरी स्थित वरुण हॉस्पिटल में अजीब शक्ल वाली बच्ची का जन्म हुआ है। नवजात को देखकर चिकित्सक और हॉस्पिटल के स्टॉफ ही नहीं, परिजन भी हतप्रभ हैं। चिकित्सक का कहना है कि नवजात हार्लेक्विन इक्थियोसिस से ग्रसित है। दुनिया में इस तरह के चंद मामले ही अब तक सामने आए हैं। कासगंज के गंजडुंडवारा निवासी 35 वर्षीय महिला को अधिक रक्तस्राव होने पर शुक्रवार शाम को विष्णुपुरी स्थित वरुण हॉस्पिटल में भर्ती कराया गया। महिला को पहले से एक बच्चा है। उसके बाद कई बार महिला का गर्भपात हो चुका है। इस बार एहतियातन तमाम टेस्ट हुए थे। शनिवार को जांच करने पर पता चला कि बच्चे की धड़कन ठीक नहीं है। इसके बाद परिवार की सहमति से ऑपरेशन के बाद बच्चे का जन्म हुआ। अजीबोगरीब नवजात देखते ही डॉक्टर से लेकर वहां मौजूद स्टाफ चौंक गए। बच्ची सामान्य नवजात से बिल्कुल अलग है। उसकी आंखें काफी बड़ी हैं। आंखों का रंग सुर्ख लाल है। शरीर का रंग भी अलग है। त्वचा ऐसी है, जैसे चाकू से काट दी गई हो। मुंह बड़ा सा खुल रहा है। इसका चेहरा और मुंह बिल्कुल असाधारण हैं। हाथ-पैर भी सामान्य नहीं हैं। वरुण हॉस्पिटल की डॉ. मणि भार्गव ने बताया कि बच्ची हार्लेक्विन इक्थियोसिस नामक बीमारी से ग्रस्त पैदा हुई है। यह दुर्लभ बीमारी है, जो लाखों बच्चों में से एक में होती है। उत्तर प्रदेश का यह पहला केस है। देश में ऐसे तीन-चार केस हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि वह इस मामले को ऊपर भेजेंगे ताकि जेनेटिक सिंड्रोम के अध्ययन में मदद मिल
